The Director, Marketing & Commercial Enablement leads ASI’s marketing function in support of the company’s sales and growth objectives. Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, this role is responsible for strengthening ASI’s market presence, refining its brand and service-line positioning, and equipping the commercial team with the tools, content, campaigns, and market insight needed to support growth.
This is a hands-on leadership role that bridges strategy and execution. The Director will help translate ASI’s technical capabilities into clear, credible market messaging across key end markets and service lines, while building a more structured marketing engine around lead generation, conference strategy, content development, sales enablement, and account-based commercial support.
The VP of Sales retains ownership of revenue, customer relationships, pipeline management, forecasting, CRM discipline, and commercial reporting. Within that structure, the Director is responsible for marketing programs and commercial support initiatives that improve market visibility, generate qualified leads, support account development, and reinforce ASI’s broader sales strategy.
Travel Requirements
- This position requires occasional travel across Canada and the United States
- Attendance at customer events, trade shows, conferences, and selected site visits as required.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy and Market Positioning
- Partner with the VP Sales and business leaders to develop and execute ASI’s annual marketing plan in support of growth priorities
- Refine ASI’s positioning by service line, end market, and customer segment to ensure clear and consistent communication of the company’s capabilities and value proposition
- Translate technical service offerings into strong commercial messaging that resonates with customers across infrastructure, utility, industrial, marine, and related markets
- Support go-to-market planning for existing and emerging service offerings, including development of vertical-specific messaging and campaigns
- Help ensure ASI presents a consistent, credible, and differentiated profile in the market
Demand Generation and Commercial Support
- Build and manage marketing programs that support qualified lead generation and customer engagement across digital, event-based, and direct outreach channels
- Develop campaigns that support strategic account development, cross-sell opportunities, and awareness of ASI’s broader service offering
- Create structured follow-up programs for leads generated through events, conferences, inbound inquiries, and marketing initiatives
- Support the sales team with market-facing campaigns and account-based marketing efforts aligned to priority customers and target sectors
- Coordinate with the VP Sales and sales team to ensure marketing activity is aligned with commercial priorities and near-term pipeline goals
Sales Enablement
- Lead development of high-quality sales and marketing collateral, including presentations, brochures, capability statements, project profiles, case studies, and customer-facing materials
- Improve the consistency, quality, and usability of materials used in customer meetings, proposals, conferences, and business development efforts
- Build and maintain a central library of approved content, visuals, project examples, boilerplate language, and reference materials
- Support the creation and refinement of proposal templates, pursuit materials, and market-specific collateral
- Work with internal technical and operating teams to surface relevant project examples and convert them into usable commercial content
Brand, Content, and Communications
- Maintain and strengthen ASI’s brand standards across all external communications and marketing materials
- Oversee development of website content, newsletters, announcements, social media content, project highlights, and thought leadership materials
- Ensure all communications reflect ASI’s technical credibility, safety culture, responsiveness, and professionalism
- Support public relations and external communications initiatives, including awards, press releases, industry publications, and company announcements
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to produce professional, on-brand content across digital and print formats
Conferences, Events, and Industry Presence
- Own ASI’s conference and event strategy across priority markets, sectors, and associations
- Plan and coordinate ASI’s participation in trade shows, sponsorships, customer events, webinars, and industry presentations
- Manage event logistics, including registration, materials, shipping, booth coordination, schedules, and post-event follow-up processes
- Ensure ASI is represented consistently and professionally across all external events
- Track event outcomes and provide visibility into lead generation, meetings supported, and follow-up activity stemming from event participation
Market Research and Competitive Insight
- Support the VP Sales in strengthening commercial infrastructure through better marketing processes, campaign coordination, and lead-tracking discipline
- Maintain accurate tracking of campaign activity, lead sources, conference participation, and other marketing inputs that support the commercial process
- Partner with the sales team to ensure timely handoff and follow-up of marketing-generated leads
- Support coordination between marketing, sales, operations, and technical teams so market-facing materials accurately reflect ASI’s capabilities and priorities
- Manage external vendors and service providers, including designers, photographers, videographers, writers, website support, and promotional suppliers
- Contribute to budget planning and tracking for marketing initiatives, conferences, and related external spend
Technical Proficiency
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Experience with CRM systems, marketing platforms, website content tools, and campaign tracking tools
- Familiarity with reporting dashboards, digital marketing tools, and lead-tracking processes
- Experience working with presentation design, marketing collateral development, and external content production
- Familiarity with ISO standards, regulated environments, or operational risk management is considered an asset

Education & Experience Requirements
- Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 8 to 12 years of progressive experience in marketing, commercial support, or business development, ideally in a B2B technical, industrial, engineering, infrastructure, or field services environment
- Experience supporting a sales-led organization and building marketing programs that directly support commercial objectives
- Strong track record in content development, conference and event execution, sales enablement, and external communications
- Experience managing external vendors and coordinating cross-functional projects
- Familiarity with technical services, industrial operations, infrastructure markets, or related sectors is an asset
- Valid driver’s license and passport; able to travel as needed
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Marketing-qualified leads generated and effectively handed off to the sales team
- Pipeline influenced by marketing activity, including campaigns, events, and account-based initiatives
- Timeliness and quality of marketing and sales enablement materials, including presentations, case studies, collateral, and proposal support content
- Conference and event effectiveness, including lead capture, meetings supported, follow-up completion, and overall commercial value
- Brand consistency and professionalism across all market-facing materials and communications
- Website, campaign, and content engagement performance
- Quality, completeness, and timeliness of marketing data, campaign tracking, and lead-source information provided to support the commercial process
- Effectiveness of marketing support for strategic accounts, cross-sell efforts, and broader sales priorities
- Budget management and discipline across marketing initiatives and event-related spend
Salary Range: $130,000 to $145,000.
