
Carmen Sferrazza
President and CEO
Mr. Carmelo (Carmen) Sferrazza is the Founder and President of ASI Group Ltd; which was formed in 1987.
Carmen has managed ASI for over 30 years, directing its growth to the company’s present status as the world leader in marine services.
As part of his responsibilities at ASI, Carmen is heavily involved with ongoing strategic planning to promote consistent growth and market response; leading and directing sales initiatives in new international markets; and the research and development of marine services.
Scott Black
Sr. Vice President, Operations
As Sr. Vice President of Operations, Scott’s responsibilities include overseeing all operational and business functions for both our Diving Group and ROV Group.
Scott has over 30 years of experience in the marine industry that includes naval training and operations, commercial diving, marine construction, ROV inspections, as well as salvage, recovery and explosive ordinance disposal operations.
In the Royal Australian Navy, Scott attained the position of Petty Officer Clearance Diver and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Operator/Technician where he gained a wealth of experience in leadership, planning, logistics, and project/operational management.


Bob Clarke, P.Eng.
Sr. Vice President, Research and Development
Bob is leading ASI efforts into new innovations as Sr. Vice President of Research and Development. His more than 35 years of experience in the marine industry means he has a wealth of knowledge to draw on, including commercial diving, Atmospheric Diving Suits (ADS) and Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) operations.

Daniel Butts
Vice President, ASI Water
Biofouling Services
As Vice President, Water Biofouling Service, Daniel specializes in ecological and marine services for industries and municipalities worldwide.
Daniel’s experience in the ecological industry spans over 25 years. Daniel has been with ASI since 1992 and his experience includes development of zebra mussel control protocols and installations, biofouling turnkey treatment systems, fire protection system control, client relations, and contract administration.
Clint Johnson, P.L.S
Vice President, Technical Services
Clint has 28 years of operation and management experience working in the surveying, mapping, and civil engineering industries.
His core areas of expertise are providing underwater services, including hydrographic surveying and mapping, and the investigation of underwater assets such as dams, bridges, revetments, and water conveyance structures. Industries served include, but are not limited to: power generation, water supply, pulp and paper, mining, marine dredging, foundries, and governments.

Pascal Larochelle, PMP
Vice President, Western Canada
As Vice President of Western Canada operations, Pascal supports strategic business initiatives to cultivate ASI’s current portfolio as well as foster existing business. His extensive experience in project management and working with remote data collection technology allows him the necessary skills to support ASI Western Canada as a leader for all underwater services from Commercial Diving Operation, Ship Husbandry Services, ROV/Hydrography Operations to Hyperbaric Tunnelling Interventions and Consultation.

Kelly Eckert
Controller
As ASI Group’s Controller, Kelly manages accounting operations. Kelly has worked at ASI since she graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Brock University in 2004.
Kelly worked her way up to Senior Accountant and most recently was promoted to Financial Controller. Kelly has experience with financial management of US and International companies, mergers and acquisitions and was integral in the sale of the ASI Water division in 2019. Kelly is actively pursuing her CGA designation.


Richard Engel
Group Manager,
Commercial Diving
Richard has 30 years of experience in the marine industry that includes commercial diving management and operations, underwater welding, marine construction, remotely operated vehicles and salvage/recovery. Richard is on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Association of Diving Contractors (CADC), a voting member of Infrastructure Health & Safety Association for Commercial Diving and continues to work with the CSA technical committee. He has managed large commercial diving and heavy marine construction projects, remotely operated vehicle tunnel and pipeline inspections internationally, nuclear diving, and ship inspections/husbandry.
Richard’s responsibilities within the Marine Group include overseeing all operational and project management needs including client consulting, the development and executing of strategic planning, preparing budget and sales goals and planning financial projections for capital spending, and adherence to Provincial/Federal H&S requirements.
Paula Cutler, CHRL
Human Resources Manager
Paula joined ASI Group Ltd in 2015. She holds a designation as Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) and brings nearly 20 years of experience in Human Resources to ASI.
She is passionate about her field, previously acting as an Instructor for the Continuing Education program at Niagara College in the areas of Human Resource Management, Training & Development, Recruitment and Selection, HR Planning and Business Ethics. Paula is also a past committee member of Leadership Niagara, an innovative local community program that brings together individuals who are recognized as emerging and aspiring leaders in the public, private and non-profit sectors.
