Water and Wastewater Engineering Services

ASI was founded in 1987 as Aquatic Sciences Inc. by a team of technical professional committed to providing public and private water and wastewater systems with integrated services; from preliminary environmental impact surveys or needs assessment, through design and construction, and continuing with project management, contract plant operations inspections and repair.

Water and wastewater management is a core business of ASI. We have extensive experience in design/build/operating small and large water and wastewater treatment systems for public and private owned facilities. We have in-house technical, engineering and licensed operators to design, construct, fabricate, manage, install calibrate, and manage treatment systems. ASI provides permanent and turnkey systems that treat flows ranging from 10 m3/day to 3,500 m3/day.

Underwater Inspection Services

ASI’s Underwater Inspection Services specializing in underwater inspections, marine geophysical and hydrographic surveys, contaminated spill site remediation and marine construction. Our divers, construction crews, engineers and technicians are backed by a fleet of advanced robotic vehicles; providing the latest in sonar and video imaging, surveying and inspection technologies. Supported by in-house environmental and engineering resources, ASI provides clients in the public and private sectors with integrated turnkey services for topside water and wastewater treatment and underwater infrastructure.

ASI’s is the world leader of specialized ROV’s for long-tunnel inspections. The ASI Mantaro is a long-tunnel inspection ROV tethered by a 33,000 ft./10,000 m umbilical that transmits sonar and video data real-time to the surface via fibreoptic telemetry. Utilizing this extreme length robotic system, ASI inspected a 72 mi./120 km water supply tunnel in Finland as well as a 5.8 mi./9.8 km tailrace tunnel in New Zealand and a 12.4 mi. headrace tunnel in Peru. Video and sonar imaging collected simultaneously provides a high degree of accuracy in data assessment, leading to informed decision-making, and eliminating the risk and expense of dewatering. Our fleet also includes ROV’s for small pipeline and open water survey inspections.

Infrastructure Development and Management (iDM), is a company formed by ASI Group Ltd. (ASI) and Integrated Municipal Services (IMS) a division of Walker Industries, to provide water and wastewater infrastructure development, design/build, operations and financing services for capital improvement projects for municipalities, industries, commercial clients, and resort and recreation property owners. .
“Hands-on” practical expertise in design/build and underwater infrastructure services sets iDM apart from engineering consulting firms. iDM goes one step further and actually constructs/fabricates the systems that we design. We then continue on to operate them efficiently with clear accountability to our clients.
